Locker Room

Welcome in team. Before you are 10 lockers filled with money aligned adjacent to each other numbered from right to left 1-10. Each of the 9 of you have been assigned a locker. The remaining locker is empty. In this test, you get to open 1 locker. You'll add whatever amount is in the locker to your group pot. If you open the empty locker, you'll add $25,000 to the pot, the maximum amount you can add in the test.

Each of you will be secretly given a clue to your locker position (found in your journal), the amount of money in your locker or both. From the clues, you need to determine which locker you want to open to give you a shot at earning the most money. Keep in mind, as a group, you only get to open 1 locker; whoever is the first to post that they're opening a locker will be the official group selection.

You're allowed to post your clues on this thread to help determine which locker to open. You have until midnight eastern to open a locker. Failure to do so will add no money to the group pot.

Remember the first person to post that they want to open a specific locker will represent the team's choice. You can post things like "I think we should open locker 4" or something like that, but if you say "The group decides to open locker 8" or "I'm opening locker 6" then that will be the official selection.

Jack - Your locker contains 3 times the amount of Farns and every player whose name is before you alphabetically is between you and the empty locker

Leigh - You have locker 1 and it contains $3000

So guys I think Jacks clue is saying that everyone alphabetically before him has less money than him, so I guess my locker must have more than jack's, kathys, farns, christi, daniel, JB?? am i missing anyone? lol

no I think he's saying that everyone who is before me alphabetically is between me and the empty locker. Meaning the empty locker and me are on either side of all the people that are before me alphabetically.

the 4 people before me alphabetically are Apollo, Farns, Christi and Daniel.

Christi - Your locker is an even number and the 2 lockers surrounding you add up to 100 times your amount.

Will - Your locker is either the farthest left or farthest right and also either the most money or the least money of any player

so locker 1 or 10 has the most money, and the other has the least.

Apollo - Your locker is surrounded by the 2 lowest amounts

Daniel - The lockers surrounding yours are owned by the 2 players that follow your name alphabetically and is 1/10th the amount of locker 10.

Since my locker is 1/10th of locker 10, I think Locker 10 is the one with the most money.

This is like one of those colored houses problems. Can everyone please post their clues quick, so we can figure it out?

Here's what we have:

Locker system: |10|9|8|7|6|5|4|3|2|1|

1 = Leigh = $3000
10 = Will = Most / Least money
2/4/6/8 = Christi = Low amount (based on the clue that the two surrounding lockers add up to a LOT (100 times) more.

Jack has three times as much as Farns, and his locker is AT LEAST 4 lockers away from the empty one - kinda ambiguous clue, cause Jack could be #2 and the empty one could be #9.

K, really need more clues.

I posted my clue. Will's locker is the highest amount. I have two people sorrounding me that come before me & after me in alphabetical order.

Updated: So Daniel's has 1/10th of Locker 10. Which means Will's Locker 10 has the highest of the players.

Do we go for Locker 10 (highest of the players), or do we try and find out the empty one which gives us 25k?

Kathy - Your amount is exactly half the amount of the locker to your right and 2 times the amount of locker 5

Christi isn't 2, she's between me and the empty one so that can't be. She's either 4/6/8. She's between Daniel and Farns.

Also Kathy isn't 4 or 5.

Are you sure she is between us? I am BETWEEN two people that are before and after me in alphabetical order. I think I am between Farns & Christi.

alright so Apollo has to be next to me, since the empty one has the most. So it goes me-Apollo (some combination of Christi/Daniel/Farns)- empty

With that said, wouldn't the locker be #7?

But we need to factor in where Kathy is.

Jack, if I'm next to you, then Farns has to be next to me - cause I'm surrounded by the two lowest amounts, and Farns is lower than you, so he'd have to be next to me too.

so what are you thinking we should go for?

It sounds like mine is worth decent

Locker 10 = the highest of the players.

The empty one = higher = but we don't have enough clues atm to get the exact location.

So we can try and make an educated guess for the empty one (which is the highest), or go with the safer guaranteed locker 10 (which could have anything from $3001 to $25000), which is second highest.

K, quick poll - how many people wanna guess, and how many wanna take the safer bet?

The group decides to open locker #10 - primarily cause Farns is a slut and refuses to post his clue, and thus we can't find the empty one with absolute certainty, and have to settle for the safer bet, i.e., second highest one, which is #10.
